Rebirth of "NANA"

The movie which premiered last fall and created a social phenomenon in all of Japan, held a press conference for it's sequel "NANA 2" on October 3rd 2006, in the Tokyo Nikkatsu studio. The movie's leading stars Mika Nakashima, Yui Ichikawa, and other cast members were in attendance.

Many records have been broken in each category of "NANA's" manga, movie, DVD, and anime. In this form, the sequel "NANA 2" will be the conclusion of the movie. Director Kentaro Ootani comments, "There are two sets of new songs which will appear in the film, but I am glad to have even one set made possible!"

Additionally, Mika Nakashima who plays the leading hero Oosaki Nana, expressed that unlike usually, "I was performing happily as a punk rocker." She laughingly includes, "This time especially, Nana's lonesome form will charm everyone. (Komatsu Nana) Yui Ichikawa-san is really cute and I am really happy that we're able to be together."

Ichikawa then chimes, "As for being with (Mika Nakashima) Nana herself, makes you feel at ease!" The two were already shown to be in sync. She adds enthusiastically, "Usually, I'll have to play the feelings of love, joy, anger, and humor intensely... But I want to take advantage of this, and perform a person who grows up to be an adult."

Hiroki Narimiya, who appears as a member of the band, relates happily, "(An actor's) private experiences is very useful for this work. Performing as Nobu, who is a innocent and good guy, is someone I can really relate to!"
