"NANA" & Mika Nakashima @ The 29th Japan Academy Prize The "29th Japan Academy Prize" took place on the night of March 3rd 2006. This award ceremony is an extremely prestigious event to honor the best talents in the Japanese movie industry for the year 2005. The winners, like the US's Academy Awards, are chosen by a panel of important judges from the Japan Academy Prize Committee. As everyone knows, 2005 was a huge year for "NANA." Mika Nakashima was notably nominated for "Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role" and "Rookie of the Year (Best New Actor/Actress)." Although she did not take home the "Outstanding Actress" award, Mika (alongside such great names like Sawajiri Erika and Horikita Maki) did take home the "Rookie of the Year" award. Another notable prize was taken by "NANA the Movie" for "Most Excellent Subject Award For a Movie Production." Congrats "NANA!"
