How Well Is "NANA" Recognized...? Translated by Lisa Lam
The hit "Glamorous Sky," theme song to the movie "NANA," was released back in August 2005. Following up on this, "NANA 2's" theme song "Hitoiro" will soon hit stores on November 29th 2006. Though mangaka Ai Yazawa wrote the lyrics for the previous and current theme song to the "NANA" movies, the real attention magnet draws on the fact that Glay's TAKURO is producing and writing the new theme "Hitoiro."
Oricon investigates how well "NANA starring Mika Nakashima" is known, three weeks before the sale of the new single "Hitoiro." Overall, recognition is 64.8% (73.5% of females, and 56% of males). The degree of recognition is 10 points higher than around last year's period of "Glamorous Sky," which was 52.3% (62% of females, 42.5% of males).
Because of the previous movie's premiere and promotion, the degree of recognition after the release of the CD was at 86.3% (93% of females, 80.5% of males), which successfully helped the sales. The trend of "NANA starring Mika Nakashima" was heavily promoted through the previous "NANA" movie, therefore the degree of recognition is higher for the upcoming song "Hitoiro." The new song is expected to be a hit.
